Forging equipment is one of the fundamental industrial equipment types, with a wide range of applications and long service life. Many older machines remain operational in the market. AYANK FORGING has numerous clients whose forging equipment has been in continuous use for decades. As environmental awareness strengthens and regulatory requirements become stricter, the demand for equipment upgrades is increasing. AYANK FORGING has consistently offered forging equipment modernization services, and here we highlight our service for converting air hammers into full hydraulic electro-hydraulic hammers.
There is a vast installed base of air hammers, many of which have been in service for too long, with some lying idle. Older air hammers are typically noisy, produce significant oil smoke, and suffer from wear after prolonged frequent use. This wear often leads to enlarged cylinder diameters, frequent fracture of follower ring, severe air leakage, ineffective hammer lifting and striking, excessive clearances in transmission system parts requiring frequent replacement, and even cracks in the frame rendering them inoperable. However, the foundation and anvil block of these machines are often still sound, and sometimes the frame remains in good condition. How can they be better utilized?
The solution is upgrading these old air hammers into electro-hydraulic hammers.
Option 1: Utilize the original air hammer's foundation and anvil system, plus a new frame and electro-hydraulic hammer power pack system.
Option 2: Utilize the original air hammer's foundation, anvil system, and frame, plus an electro-hydraulic hammer power pack system.
After conversion, the electro-hydraulic hammer enables remote electric control of strikes and automatic continuous striking. Using an aviation-style control pendant, the operator can work alongside the manipulator on the same platform. This not only saves labor but also significantly improves collaborative efficiency.
The conversion not only increases striking energy but also enhances overall equipment stability and improves the working environment. Utilizing the existing air hammer foundation saves costs for new foundation construction, and reusing the anvil block section provides cost savings. This helps enterprises achieve cost reduction, efficiency gains, and productivity improvement.
